Mazet de Montargis
Created under Louis XIII by the food officer of Marshal Duke of Praslin, roasted and caramelized almonds were quickly called "Praslines", becoming very popular at Court. This food officer later settled in Montargis under the name of "Confectionery du Roi", which became the Mazet confectionery since 1903. The recipe for "Praslines" has since remained secret and the range of "Mazet Confisseur" specialties is today inspired by this original recipe.
