Glenmorangie

Exceptional aging for absolute roundness

Glenmorangie The Lasanta 15 Year Old embodies the Highland distillery's expertise in the art of maturation. After an initial extended stay in oak casks that previously held bourbon, this single malt benefits from a further maturation of several years in some of Spain's most prestigious sherry casks.

The combined use of Oloroso Sherry casks for structure and Pedro Ximenez casks for sweetness gives this whisky a deep amber color and a particularly silky mouthfeel. This 15-year-old version is distinguished by its increased complexity and perfect integration of woody and fruity aromas.

Aromatic profile and tasting notes

This single malt from the Extra Matured range presents a remarkable balance between the original finesse of the Glenmorangie distillate and the richness brought by the Sherry wine.
The nose : a warm start marked by salted caramel, dark chocolate and lingering notes of sweet spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.
The palate : a smooth attack where currants, juicy orange segments, and heather honey mingle. The mid-palate reveals hints of toasted hazelnuts and nougat.
The finish : long and comforting, it leaves a delicate imprint of candied citrus zest and molasses.

The secrets of making Lasanta 15 year old

The Glenmorangie distillery uses the tallest stills in Scotland, with necks as tall as a full-grown giraffe. Only the lightest and purest vapors reach the top, guaranteeing a spirit of rare elegance even before it enters the cask.
Distillation in swan-neck stills 8 meters high.
Initial aging in American white oak barrels (ex-bourbon).
Double maturation in selected Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks from Jerez.
Bottled at 43% to preserve the intensity of the flavors without altering the fineness of the grain.

Serving suggestions for this Highland single malt

To fully appreciate the richness of this whisky, serve it at room temperature in a tulip-shaped tasting glass. Adding a very small splash of spring water can help release the more deeply buried aromatic esters, revealing further floral and spicy nuances. This bottle pairs perfectly with an intense dark chocolate dessert or a mature blue cheese.
