Recognised as an essential part of the wines of Northern Greece, it was for a long time a hidden treasure!The territory of the Goumenissa PDO, one of the most recognised in northern Greece after that of Nouassa, is located on the banks of Mount Pa¯ko, a terroir that allows the Vinomaro and Negoska grape varieties to be grown, making the wines a little less bitter than those of Naoussa (100% Xinomavro), while at the same time enhancing the intensity of the colour and the alcohol content of the wine.
