Don Julio
In 2002, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of his distillery, Don Julio created his tequila 1942. Made by hand, it has been produced in very small quantities with an ever increasing concern for quality and rarity.
Prepared exclusively from a selection of the best blue agave from Mexico, Don Julio undergoes a long ageing process of 2 and a half years in bourbon casks, then is distilled in small copper stills.
The result is without appeal, a real little marvel, between sweetness and smoothness. It is prized by connoisseurs all over the world and has even received several prizes at the Tokyo International Tequila Competition (2011, 2012 and 2013).
Tasting notes
Colour: Slightly amber with deep golden reflections.
Nose: Sweet notes of caramelised cherries, walnut, almond and chocolate, followed by hints of cinnamon, oak and vanilla.
Palate: Silky, with aromas of cooked agave, still with vanilla, some tropical fruits and spicy notes.
Finish : Rich and mellow, with a hint of oak and vanilla.
