From the family-run Ascheri winery in Italys Piedmont, La Selezione Barolo has all the characteristics of good Barolo but with a softness to the fruit and roundness to the palate which mean it can be drunk younger. Truffle and blackberry scented with upfront fruit and superb depth of flavour, this is a delightfully-structured, complex wine. Try it with roasted or grilled red meats and ripe cheeses.
