The first appearance of Echezeaux dates back to the end of the 13th century when the monks of the abbey of Citeaux acquired a few plots of land, seduced by the quality of the soil.And indeed, this sloping and shallow land of the C´te de Nuits is perfectly suited to the Pinot Noir from which this Echezeaux Grand Cru is made. A dense and well-balanced wine, it offers very good ageing potential over a decade.
