  • Description
A whisky elaborated thanks to long aging for a very aromatic result.
Maison Gelas

This Scotch whisky, from the Speyside region, is made with unmalted barley and starch-rich wheat. Always concerned about the quality of their products, Maison Gelas has requested to add 10% malted barley for this whisky.

After distillation, this whisky is aged in 180L hard grain bourbon casks for 3 years. Thereafter, Maison Gelas continues the aging in Maury barrels of the Pouderoux family whose vines were planted in 1901. The long aging of Maury brings oxidative aromas that blend harmoniously with the grain brandy.

The art of double maturation is to take the quintessence of the woods used without denaturing the initial product.

Gelas House

Since the 19th century, the Gelas family has brought all its know-how and expertise to the production of Armagnac. True enthusiasts, Maison Gelas was created by Baptiste Gelas and has continued to be passed down from generation to generation. It is after the Second World War that the company knows an international influence. In 1950, the business expanded to include the trading of wines and several spirits. Today, it is the fourth generation of the family that runs the company, continuing to perpetuate the values of its predecessors such as the quality of the products and a real desire to innovate in their field.
